About Mahabharat
The Mahabharata, known by many other names such as Jai, Bharat, Pancham Akhyan, Shatasahastri Samhita, Krishnam Veda, etc., is an important memory book of Hinduism. It was composed by Maharishi Krishna Dwaipayan Vedvyas in 3100 BC. This entire epic has more than 1 lakh 10 thousand verses and more than 2 lakh verses, which are written in 18 lakh words.
The Mahabharata-story is a strange mixture of the natural and the unnatural. While reading, it seems that we have come to a wonderful utopia. There, there is an uninterrupted harmony between gods and humans, the sages are engrossed in penance for thousands of years and lose their penance by getting trapped in the illusion of Apsaras. Performing Yagya is the biggest task of the kings. Today’s modern weapons are trivial in front of the weapons with which famous heroes fight.
If we look at the Greek poems – Eliad and Odyssey; Even if both are mixed, this epic is 10 times longer than them and 4 times longer than Ramayana. Which makes it the largest and longest epic in the world. The chapters of Mahabharata are called parva, there are total 18 parva and 100 sub-parva. These festivals are named after the main character or story of that chapter.
